I'm not a cynical person. Or at least I try not to be. I often find myself frustrated when someone doesn't hold the door for me. But when a stranger in a store hands me a stack of coupons, I'm struck speechless. I thank them, of course, but their kindness erases whatever bad taste I might have in my mouth.
In fact, two weeks before Christmas, my husband and I were browsing through a selection of sunglasses in a mall shop. Neither one of us intended on purchasing anything but all that changed when a woman handed my husband a $50 coupon/gift card. To use the certificate, one had to make a purchase over $100 and would receive $50 off but the savings card needed to be used by a certain date. The woman said she didn't need it and paid it forward.
A random act of kindness.

Thank you to I Am a Reader, Not A Writer and Read For Your Future.
The most recent random act of kindness i've experienced was about a month ago. I was in a Chick-Fil-A drive thru and the car in front of me bought my meal. I was so happy to find that there are still selfless people in the world! Since my meal was paid for, I paid it forward and bought the meal of the car behind mine!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great opportunity! My email is read4food@yahoo.com
I have seen very small acts of kindness by what I call the "coupon fairies". They leave coupons on products in supermarkets and when I see this, I return the favor and leave some as well.

My friend chose the first four responders to a fb post she posted and will send them each a small gift sometime this year. Cute idea, especially since I'm one of the recipients, lol. I also did the same thing on MY fb page too.

Thanks for the giveaway!! Random acts of kindness happen all the time. Sometimes we don't even notice when they occur. Living on a christian college campus, I'm constantly thanking people for opening doors to the point of ridiculousness. In fact, the other day while I was working at the campus store, a young boy, probably the age of 16, found $17 on the floor and turned it in claiming that someone had dropped it. How honest and sweet is that!?
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day and I hope your day is filled with random acts of kindness!

The last random act of kindness that I witnessed was one that I performed! I had 2 hrs left paid on my parking stall, and I gave the person waiting for my spot my ticket so he wouldn't have to pay.

PS: I think you are using last year's giveaway image. This year's is running to Feb 24th.
Thanks. That's weird because this is what they sent me. Hmmm

ReplyDeleteSome people in my class are very nice and include a kid who's blind. They help him find a spot, and if we do a group discussion, they talk to him too. It's so very sweet to see.
