Julie is not only my writer bestie but she is a dear friend and I'm a fan of her writing. This author has introduced me to mystery, something I wouldn't normally pick up. Her characters are clever, dear, warm and snarky! Love, love, love them! 

I would place Murder by the Seaside right up there with the Stephanie Plum series. I think we will see more great things from this author and list of characters!

If you're a regular you might recognize Julie's name. She's been on here before and I'm a fan. I even have the jacket.

Guys, I've read this book and I'm not a big chicken. I don't think I'll ever look at discarded cigarette butts the same or little pumpkins.

Have you seen this show? OMG! I am in love. It's the one show I watch that doesn't involve vampires, suspense, cops or drama. Instead, it's about a dad and his teenage daughter moving from NYC to the suburbs (hence the name), hopefully, allowing the daughter to have a wholesome upbringing.

Little do they know that yes, it's not like life in the big city. It's better. Funnier. Over the top laugh your butt off! Ironic because some of the jokes are about lipo!

So in attempt to keep the humor in my life (mom of 3, yikes!) I trade tweets about the show with a friend, Julie Anne Lindsey. We'll say a line or two from the previous show, laugh and go about our day with a smile on our faces.

Well, a few night ago Julie texted me stating Dallas Royce tweeted us. What? What!

In a mad dash, I search my Twitter account and WHAM there it is.

Now, let me back up a bit and offer up my tweet.

So I did what any normal house wife who's connected to social media. I tweeted, retweeted and FaceBooked the heck out the fact that Dallas Royce tweeted me. (And it was good too ;-)

Do I think she's actually tweeting me? Cheryl Hines? Um, I don't know. I mean, I'm sure there are PR people and assistants that handle this sort of thing but I think that fan girl part of me who gets giddy over star sightings thinks, just maybe, it is her. Just this one time. Or hopes its her.

But if not, it's all cool *blushes* *wipes away the tears*.

NaNoWrimo begins in 7 days!

I love how the NaNoWrimo website has a counter reminding participants when it begins. Honestly, how could we forget.

Like last year, I'm participating. Yikes! I know. What am I thinking? Didn't I just have a baby? Am I not in the process of some major work for TMP? Have I lost my mind?

Absolutely yes to all questions.

I can't help it. There's something about signing up and committing myself to this event that motivates me. And this year, I've roped a good writer bestie into trying it again. *looks at Julie Anne Lindsey*

Whatever happened to my NaNo from last year, you ask. Well, nothing except it's gathering computer dust. But don't worry. I have plans for that novel that time hasn't allowed me to finish it up yet.

What's going to make this year different? Easy. I've signed a contract stating that I will have a finished manuscript that will be ready for edits next year. Double Yikes!

Never fear because I'm not. Unlike last year, I've outlined (gasps) this novel out which is something I never do. Ever!

But the main reason I'm jazzed to participate this year is because I love the creative process of writing. I love throwing my words to paper and seeing what happens and lately I haven't allowed myself any writing time. I've been busy editing books due out this year and next.

Oh yeah, and there was that pregnancy thing which sucked my creative juices!

Are you doing NaNo this year? If so, how are you feeling? Is it your first time? Or are you an old pro and can offer some tips for those of us still figuring it all out.
